Kaufmann has designed this innovative solution to achieve extreme energy efficiency known as the K-Plus Haus made at its core of solid doweled wood walls.

The goal of the K-Plus Haus is to reach the highest possible energy efficiency at the most effective price point thus providing the lowest possible energy costs. We have developed synergies with natural materials and trusted components, the central one being the solid doweled wood walls, to create a uniquely comfortable and healthy environment to live in. The K-Plus system eliminates off-gassing and makes it possible for all interior surfaces to have similar temperatures.

The K-Plus heating technology makes you independent of fossil fuels as the energy is obtained through geothermal ground coils and a particularly effective heat pump. The K-Plus Komfort Ventilation System provides each room with fresh air and recovers up to 90% of the heating/cooling energy through an effective cross-flow heat exchanger. The heating and ventilation load can easily be supplied by a photovoltaic system which can also be optimized to include power storage. The total concept of an air tight building envelope that effectively eliminates thermal bridging constructed out of solid doweled wood walls mixed with ultra-efficient technology makes it possible to generate more energy throughout the year than the house consumes for heating.
